Straw Beary Tea and Fabric

It is Teacup Thursday! I  brought a Strawberry Teacup and my Cherished Teddy too! I have another Cherished Teddy that sits with this one and all my Strawberry cups/ teapots but I don't have them out right now. I need to do that soon- before winter hits and my snowmen feel at home again. Maybe this Monday- I took two whole days off - in a row just so I can catch up on my poor neglected house.

While MySweetMommie and I were at the Quilter's General Store on Saturday, I found fabric perfect for Teacup Thursday! Not only was it teacups, it is 1940's ish and it was 50% off!  The lady that cut it for me asked what I was going to do with it. I said I don't know but for all those reasons previously stated, How could I NOT get it?
Hope you are having a Blessed Thursday! I sure am!

Thursday - Tea Cups and Ta Da's

Hope you are having  a wonderful Thursday!

Sending  Love Table Runner

I used snaps to attach the envelope
because I wasn't sure how well my ink
would stand being washed
This runner was made for my CaMom who keeps us stocked with fabric and supplies and machines. I am teaching MySweetMommie, SisterMine and AbbyDoo how to quilt, so everyone had a hand in creating this. MySweetMommie chose the colors to match CaMom's Tiffany lamps. We wanted it done for CaMom's Birthday but we ended up ready for Mother's Day instead. We made it to represent all the love sent back and forth between Illinois and California via phone calls, internet, snail mail and occasional airplane rides.

Kitty in the Window

Kitty in the Window

Have you Hugged your cat today?

Today is Hug your Cat Day! So it is fitting that my "ta-da" is my "Kitty in the Window" Wall hanging! Sunday afternoon, I took two of my King's Kids Girls out to lunch for filling our star chart up last year. One of the girls mentioned that she wanted to have kitty decorations in her room and the wheels in my head started turning... This fabric would be purrfect for a little girl!  So, after dropping the girls off at home, I started this little wall hanging on Sunday afternoon, and finished it up on Monday evening. I almost had the block finished before church Sunday night but it just needed *something.* I found the fat quarter of the orange polka dots while MySweetMommie and I were shopping on Monday- and I had the block in the car so I could match the colors.  I think it gave it just the right oomph! I added blue rick rack and some boring buttons. Miss Christa loved it.  I have plans to make a matching pillow for her as well.
the improv log cabin  block is so much fun to make

My other "ta-da" is this set of baby blocks that I made on Saturday. I added plastic in between the layers of one of the blocks to make it crinkle and added a bell inside another. All of the fabrics have fun textures too. The parents liked the blocks- the baby is only a week old so we will have to wait to see how he likes them. :) Stanley liked them- he thought his job was the official cuddliness inspector .

 Word of the Day
Main entry: pulchritudinous [puhl-kri-tood-n-uhs]
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: beautiful

This Teacup belonged to my dear Amyfriend's grandmother. It is one of my most treasured cups. It is so feminine and springy. It is  very pulchritudinous. I have another cup with a similar design that I received at our Ladies Spring Tea. It has the same border, just different flowers in the center.

Speaking of flowers, my irises are full of buds and some of them look like they are kissing. I've never noticed this before but thought it looked neat.

My irises seem to be growing in a circle

two of the buds on two of the plants
look to be connected

Also participating in Teacup Thursday:
Atteatude and Chocolate and of course our wonderful Hostess Miss Spenser

Have a  delightful day! Tomorrow I will hopefully be posting a yester year WIP....

Teacup Thursday

All the links are for music so click for some wintery songs!
It is Snowing! First snow we have had since December 17th! Yes, I am one of those weird people who are excited about the snow today! I'm just afraid if we don't get winter weather soon, the weather will still be wintery in June! So Let it Snow!

My teacup today is one of my very first teacups! We went to Sedona Arizona to visit Aunt Cheesecake and Uncle Jag right after I had decided to start my collection-  That was an amazing vacation! Sedona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
When Aunt Cheesecake heard I was collecting- she presented me with this one from her collection. It remains very special to me!

That trip was also special because we went to Cathedral City, California so my sister and I could reunite with our Dad, whom we hadn't seen since 1978. Dad and CaMom have been spoiling us rotten ever since! We are so blessed to have them in  our lives!
Brew a pot of tea, sit back and get cozy- Winter Wonderland is here to stay- For a few days anyway!

Teacup Thursday

Can you see the cinnamon bread and crumbs?
- the house smelled so good this morning!

Here it is again Teacup Thursday! Last week I actually received 2 new cups on Thursday- but didn't know until Friday. This is one of them - they are gifts from my FABULOUS CaliforniaMom! I especially love this one. Most teacups are for right handed people- if they are painted inside and you hold it in your left hand you don't get to see the pretties! I have a friend who has been looking in vain for a left handed teacup for me. The fine folks in Staffordshire England have come up with a solution:

This cup is ambidextrous!
The flowers on the inside go all the way around!  Now when I hold it in either hand I can still enjoy the flowers! Simple Pleasures!!

Teacups and Tandy cake!

Teacup Thursday!

Last night when I arrived at church I was pleasantly surprised by my friend Amy. She made Tandy Cake for the potluck- because I love it! What a sweet friend! Thank YOU Amy! I ate way too many pieces through the evening and I even got to take some home to have with my tea!

For the recipe click here

Just for Fun- this effect is called hypnotic!

There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much
diminished by a nice cup of tea.

Tea Cup Thursday- and its really thursday

 Happy Thursday to you!

I am glad thursday comes once a week because I had a hard time choosing which teacup to share today! I have QUITE a few! This teacup is in my hallway- where it just found its new home for autumn. Since it is Canadian I thought it would go great with my Travel Spot in the hallway. No, the words are not actually on my wall, but they would look neat there! I really need something there to hide the ugly lightswitch!

I believe this cup came from my Mommie- I love it for the gold maple leaves! It looks so pretty with my fall decor, and now it has it's very own space in the Wandering!

As you can see I have been playing with Picnik again! I really LOVE that site!

The lovely lady is the photo is my Great Grandma!
